A woman was taken to hospital for treatment after a hazardous liquid was reportedly thrown at her in Scotland’s busiest shopping street.
Police Scotland said it was alerted to the alleged incident involving a “harmful substance” in Glasgow’s Buchanan Street at about 6.20pm on Sunday.
The force said emergency crews attended, and a 46-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 51-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged assault.
The suspect is due to appear before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

Chief Inspector Stephen McManus said: “We understand this was a worrying incident and thank the public for their assistance.
“Officers will be in the area and anyone with any concerns can approach them.”
