The chairman of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics (LA28), Casey Wasserman, is selling his talent and marketing agency after publication of historic flirtatious emails with convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, US outlets are reporting.
In a memo to Wasserman Group staff, he apologised for what he called “past personal mistakes” and said he had “become a distraction” for the company.
“It’s not fair to you, and it’s not fair to the clients and partners we represent so vigorously and care so deeply about,” he wrote.
The emails with Maxwell took place over 20 years ago.
Last week, pop star Chappell Roan revealed she was no longer represented by his company.
In a social media statement, she said: “No artist, agent or employee should ever be expected to defend or overlook actions that conflict so deeply with our own moral values”.
Earlier this week, the LA28 said Mr Wasserman would remain chairman of the games.
