In a post on X, RTE en IDF-Normandie, part of the RTE operator which manages France’s high-voltage electricity transmissions, said an RTE electrical substation in Issy-les-Moulineaux had been damaged at 6.38am.
They added that 170,000 homes were without power, but that 112,000 homes had been reconnected within five minutes, including all homes affected in Paris and around Issy-Les-Moulineaux.
They went on to apologise for the inconvenience and said by 8.50am (7.50am French time) 2,600 homes were still without power, but stressed that RTE teams were working to restore power to all affected homes.
