A fire at a car park at Heathrow Airport destroyed a vehicle and led to road closures on the M4.
London Fire Brigade said it responded to several calls about a vehicle alight at a multi-storey car park at the airport at around 9am.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters attended the scene, where the vehicle was destroyed and two others were damaged.
A spokesperson for Heathrow Airport confirmed the fire took place at the car park for Terminal 3, and said the blaze was “quickly extinguished and no injuries reported”.
“The car park has now reopened and the rest of the airport continues to operate as normal,” they added. “We apologise to passengers for any inconvenience.”
The rest of the airport remained open as usual during the incident, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
No flights appeared to be delayed as a result, according to the Heathrow departures page, but National Highways East said on social media that the southbound M4 spur was closed for around an hour as a result of the fire.

It comes after Heathrow and several other major airports were hit by delays following a suspected cyber attack that targeted a service provider for check-in and boarding systems last month.
Passengers reported being unable to check in online, instead queuing for hours for staff to deal with them manually at desks and departure gates, only to be told their flights are not taking off.
Last October, flights at Luton Airport were temporarily grounded after a huge fire broke out at its multi-storey car park.
An incident report by Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service later found that the blaze broke out in a red Range Rover, which already had “light smoke” coming out of it as it entered through the barriers.

Sky News has contacted Heathrow Airport for comment on claims that the fire at the car park caused passengers to miss flights.
Motorists also faced delays on Wednesday after a section of the M25 was shut near the airport following a major crash.
London Fire Brigade said the incident at Junction 14 for the A3113 in the early hours of Wednesday morning involved a car and a lorry, with one man taken to hospital.
National Highways said traffic is being diverted off the motorway at the Junction 14 slip road.
It added that the road will be closed while police investigate the crash, but delays are easing.
