A teenager has been stabbed to death following a “disturbance” in Manchester’s Moss Side.
Greater Manchester Police said a murder investigation had been launched after the 15-year-old was found with stab wounds early on Monday evening.
Officers said the incident had involved “a number of people” and that the suspect was still at large.
‘Section 60’ powers are in place in the area until 5.20pm on Tuesday, which allow officers to stop and search people.
Chief Superintendent David Meeney from the City of Manchester district described the incident as “an appalling act”.
He added: “There is a thorough investigation plan in place as we look to find the perpetrator of this appalling act that has seen a young man lose his life.
